He was wounded and crushed
because of our sins;
by taking our punishment,
he made us completely well.
Isaiah 53:5 (Contemporary English Version)
A jug of sour wine was standing by. Someone put a sponge soaked with the wine on a javelin and lifted it to his mouth. After he took the wine, Jesus said, "It's done . . . complete." Bowing his head, he offered up his spirit.
John 19:30 (The Message)

Davidk667 - I have read your comment a few times, and the text doesn't provide the tone of it, so I will answer matter-of-factly. As you can tell from my blog, my passion is gardening, but I am happy (in a fairly anonymous way) to share other interests and aspects of myself, such as my love for my children, or my interest in art, especially anything made of natural materials, and of my tinkering with 3D art, or my fascination with living creatures. So this post reflects yet another part of what makes me "me". I have come to understand, over the years, that no matter how good or bad we consider ourselves to be, in the end, it is not anything we do or don't do which is of merit, but rather that God chooses to show both His justice and mercy through us, and through the sacrifice of His Son for us. That is what is amazing. So I simply want to share that, along with the other stuff which I hold dear to me.
ReplyDeleteSorry, I am not up-to-date on twittering, and can't quite make sense of your other contact info, so I hope you will return to read my reply. I can also be contacted through my email link in my blog profile.
