We have that insect here in the Philippines, too. I think they're cute and pretty harmless :) Kind of a pest here, though, during the summer months as there are a number of them (you'll see about 10 in a single area) and they get indoors-- we just kick them out back to the garden :)Reghttp://www.wedgienet.netnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-21216858.post-72279229137166788182012-05-02T17:24:33.669-07:002012-05-02T17:24:33.669-07:00was wondering if these "critters" were o...was wondering if these "critters" were ok to leave in my garden. guess they are :) dont want to get rid of them. i agree, they are kind of pretty! i'm in OR so guess they are wide spread.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-21216858.post-18758910599943377332010-06-14T04:44:42.521-07:002010-06-14T04:44:42.521-07:00Oh my.... what a fabulous garden you have!Oh my.... what a fabulous garden you have!Kerri Farleyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07617128767655910810noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-21216858.post-19865888925308979962010-06-13T05:48:15.425-07:002010-06-13T05:48:15.425-07:00Wow what a great group of photos, the one of your ...Wow what a great group of photos, the one of your daughter with her pet rat is great and the millipede macro shot is great, thanks for sharing!Iowa Gardening Womanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13457574109288160557noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-21216858.post-71231962685813300082010-06-12T21:39:36.694-07:002010-06-12T21:39:36.694-07:00Congratulations on finding that beautiful milliped...Congratulations on finding that beautiful millipede (yes, it's a millipede, not a centipede)! He provides a lovely ornament to your really beautiful garden. And don't worry about him eating your foliage, he eats stuff down in the soil and helps to turn dead plant material into fertilizing mulch.Jacqueline Donnellyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13390548854179921303noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-21216858.post-56517488327169989272010-06-12T21:12:26.005-07:002010-06-12T21:12:26.005-07:00It's fascinating that one of the blogs I follo...It's fascinating that one of the blogs I follow, Saratoga Woods and Waterways, just posted the ID for what looks to be the same centipede (millipede?) as mine, all the way from the state of New York, as Boraria stricta. When I searched for Boraria stricta, I found images from North Carolina, which look to be an identical match. Wow, that's either a pretty wide range for this little guy, or he hitched a pretty long ride, to be up here in the Vancouver BC area. Anyhow, he's beautiful and very welcome in my garden.Garden Lilyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07555471590488138155noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-21216858.post-40744031657899929282010-06-10T14:58:09.422-07:002010-06-10T14:58:09.422-07:00Gorgeous and your son is too cute :)Gorgeous and your son is too cute :)Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-21216858.post-19139645378017502342010-06-10T12:14:52.722-07:002010-06-10T12:14:52.722-07:00Your garden is looking great!
